Solo Armadas - FastTrek Docs
FastTrek can automatically engage Solo Armadas using either a single ship or a 'Lead' ship with any number of Support ships.
Solo Armadas
Gameplay is increasingly Armada-based
More and more (Solo-)Armadas are being added.
It started with Dominion, Borg, then Shipyards, Krenim, Type 03, G6 FKR Solos, Hurak Invasions, Conqueror Borg, forgive me if I forgot any.
FastTrek can now automatically engage Solo Armadas using either a single ship or a ‘Lead’ ship with any number of Support ships.
Let’s jump straight into the configuration:
Configuring the Lead ship
This is the ship that will start armadas. The setup for this ship is the same regardless of whether you use Support ships or not.
Select ‘Solo Armada’
Configure your main ship for Solo Armadas. Here I am picking Altero for some Level 60 Dominion Solo Armadas.
I’m also asking the ship to repair when the hull goes below 30%, opting for a ‘total number of battles’ configuration instead of just ‘number of battles’. This way I can be sure that 12 Armadas will be defeated, regardless of the number of attempts or repairs required.
Keywords?
Optionally, use Keywords (like in Keyword Hunter to restrict by name.
A good example is Krenim / Temporal Armadas:
- Static !Charged for Static only
- Charged !Static for Charged only
Ship Abilities?
Depending on your ship, certain ship abilities can be activated. Currently supported are:
- Anti-static (USS Relativity)
- Anti-charged (USS Relativity)
- Field Repairs (certain FKR ships)
- Taunt (Vindicator)
- Relentless Assault (certain FKR ships)
These abilities will be activated before engaging an Armada and renewed as necessary.
Levels?
In some systems different Armada rarities are segregated by levels (such as Borg). Use level filters to restrict to a particular type when possible.
If neither Keywords nor Levels are specified, FastTrek may start any solo armadas in the system.
Start Paused
Hit “Start Paused”, then we’ll continue to configure the Support Ships.
Configuring the Support ship(s)
These ships will simply ‘register’ with the Lead ship as supporters. For the most part they are fully controlled by the Lead.
This is why the lead needs to be paused (or not started at all), as otherwise it will just fly off…
’Solo Armada Support’
Select ‘Solo Armada Support’ as the automation for each of your support ships and pick your lead ship as the target location.
Here I’ve chosen Ship 4 to match my main ship (D).
That’s it, there is nothing else to configure here.
Ship Abilities?
As mentioned above, you can also select ship abilities for your support ships. These will be activated and renewed by FastTrek as necessary, just like for the lead ship.
Start
‘Start’ the Support ship. When you have started all Support ships, ‘Resume’ the lead.
Alternatively use ‘Start Paused’ on each and finally activate all automations at the same time using ‘Start / Resume All’.
What happens next?
FastTrek will send all ships to the target system, wait for all of them to be ready (the last ship must at least be out of warp), then look for Solo Armada targets. It will then join with the other ships, wait to finish, then target the next.
If any ship in the armada group needs to be recalled according to the criteria set on the lead ship (in my example above 30% hull), all ships will be recalled and repaired before continuing.
Known Limitations
- No distinction between rarities (uncommon, rare, epic) if they share the same name and level.
- There is currently no guard or stop in place when running out of directives.
- Might run into issues when the system is busy with multiple players running solo armadas at the same time.
- There is a known bug where ghost armadas may continue to display in the system. FastTrek may target but fail to start these.
