Mouse Click Duration - FastTrek Docs
Adjust how long FastTrek holds mouse clicks for, to better suit your computer's performance and responsiveness.
Background
The Star Trek® Fleet Command client only registers mouse clicks when the mouse buttons comes up, not when it is first pressed down.
Mouse click duration in FastTrek determines for how long FastTrek holds the mouse button down when performing an action.
These settings are adjusted in Settings > Advanced.
Stationary Targets
Stationary targets include buttons and menu items. Normally these don’t require any special handling and in most cases the default will be fine.
The default average duration is 100 milliseconds for clicks on stationary targets.
Moving Targets
Moving targets are hostiles flying around in combat.
What’s the problem here?
It takes a few milliseconds for FastTrek to detect hostiles and then work out which one to target. If the click is so long that the hostile moves too far away, the click will miss.
On the other hand, if the click is too short, it may not register at all.
If you find that FastTrek is clicking behind hostiles, which means clicking where they have just been, reducing the click duration with this setting may help.
The default average duration is 91 milliseconds for clicks on moving targets.
If clicks are happening left or right of the target, even if flying diagonally, please look at Adjust Targeting instead.
Randomness
No human clicks with exactly the same duration, right?
FastTrek randomises the click duration using statistical modelling. The numbers provided are averages and FastTrek will introduce a slight variance to make the clicks feel more natural and less robotic.
