New Timed Collections

See Settings > Schedules.

All collections (apart from gifts) now have an option for collecting at a fixed time every day.

To enable this option, go to Settings > Schedules and switch the toggle for the relevant collection to “Timed”. You will then be able to enter a time at which you want the collection to be triggered.

When the scheduled time arrives, the collection will be triggered regardless of cooldowns. Using timed collection will disable ‘update/check’ collections within 5 minutes of starting or resuming FastTrek. It will also disable extra collections just after event reset.

Game Start

See Settings > Restarts.

A new “Start game if not running” option has been added to Settings > Restarts. When enabled (which is the default), FastTrek will attempt to start the game if it detects that it has not been running for the duration specified. (Default 10 minutes)

Norton vs HotKeys

On Windows, Norton AV could detect FastTrek as a keylogger (IDP.Generic) due to the way in which it registered its hotkeys. This update changes the hotkey registration method to try and avoid this issue.

Other changes

• Ensure missing localised graphic does not crash automations when playing on languages other than English, French or German.
• The “Maximum Wait Time for Hostile to get stuck during Picard Maneuver” option was missing from Settings > Ship Behaviour and has now been added.
• The system requirement for MacOS has been lowered to 14.6 (Sonoma).

• Fixes ship status being read incorrectly with Scopely’s new Alliance Tournaments icon.
• Bundles the latest community mod (1.1.0).

Community Mod

On Windows you can update the mod by running the Setup Wizard. On MacOS please update manually by downloading the latest .dmg here

The MacOS update fixes the problem where the game needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled with every game update, so this is worth downloading.

Faction Store fixes

• Fixed an issue where FKR Recruit packs would only collect once, even if multiple chests were selected.
• Fixed an issue where the collection could infinitely try to drag/scroll down when an item was in cooldown.
• Fixed an issue where the collection might look for the next item before the previous ‘done’ screen was dismissed.
• Fixed Defiant parts collections in the Bajoran store to reflect the recent ability to ‘view’ and convert up to 3 chests.

Mining

• Fixed zero-node detection in transogen systems.
• Fixed HHP reading in hazard systems, which could lead to premature recall in conjunction with ‘recall if hull < …’. See notes on this option.

Targeting and Travel Improvements

• Fixed an issue where combat ships would be detected as OPC when attacking a ship in the combat triangle (and immediately recall if ‘recall if OPC’ was used).
• Fixed an issue where the build queues may be expanded, especially during rift travel.
• Avoid using the instant travel button when sending an instant-jump-capable ship to a token system.

Significantly reduced the wait time for all targeting and travel confirmations, including:

• when a click on a hostile is missed, down to ~2 seconds from ~10+ seconds.
• when targeting rifts.
• when confirming travel to a system, especially for mining.

Attempt to cancel attacks on occupied nodes

When there is significant lag, mining nodes can sometimes show as free when they are actually occupied. This can lead to accidental attacks on players, RoE breaches, and diplomatic incidents.

This update attempts to detect an unwanted attack and cancels it by immediately recalling the ship before stopping the warp charge. Success isn’t guaranteed (and frankly this couldn’t be tested), but worth it if even just one incorrect attack is stopped.

Maverick Faction Store

Added the missing labels for various Borg Sphere items in the Maverick Faction Store collection settings.

MacOS

Improve permissions handling for MacOS users and offer a wizard solution to grant permissions when needed.

Wait for Shield Recharge Functional Change

This setting now disables the Kir’Shara queue for an automation when it is enabled. (Previously this option was completely ignored as soon as Kir’Shara was used.)

You may need to check your saved profiles and update them accordingly.

Other Changes and Fixes

• Fixed OPC detection when ship abilities were activated, e.g. Automatic Defenses on a miner.
• Fixed an issue where opening the shield settings would default the shield configuration to “renew” mode when configured to “scheduled”.

Fixes a packaging error in v1.16.17 where the version appeared as ${project.version} in the UI internally. This caused errors such as not being able to login or the game not being detected.

Please update to this version to resolve the issue.

This update aims to address issues with hostile targeting:

• The default click point has been moved 3 pixels further to the left. If you use Adjust Targeting, you may need to update your configuration.
• Overzealous player detection was leading to valid targets being dismissed. This was caused by a laggy game causing ‘star streaks’ to appear all over the targeting dialogue, which interfered with the previous technique.

Mirror Navigation

This update fixes the issue where the bot would occasionally and seemingly randomly go straight back through a rift it had just arrived through, and ending up in a completely wrong system.

Root cause

For those curious about the details, a single click into the system is required before keyboard pan has any effect. In a system where we arrived on the left, FastTrek would aim this around the left hand edge, and “out of bounds” would flash before panning the system (due to that enabling click).

But in some cases, the ship menu would sometimes become taller for no reason, causing the click to fall on the ship captain’s portrait instead of into the system. As a result, the system would never register the click, and the pan would never be enabled.

The view would stay on the entry rift and FastTrek would see that as the only possible one to take.

Restarts

More work has been done to avoid an excessive number of attempted restarts, especially during maintenance periods. On MacOS in particular, these could lead to crashes, multiple broken instances of STFC running, and using up more system resources than necessary.

Excelsior

The Excelsior ability “Decloaking Deflector” can now be activated by the Voyager / Excelsior automation (previously “Voyager Bioship”).

The cooldown for this ability can be configured in Settings > Ship Behaviour.

The automation will automatically detect which ability is available on the current ship and use the corresponding cooldown.

Gift Collection

This releases fixes some issues with the in-game Gift Collection introduced in 1.16.14:

• Incorrect count down to the next collection in the ‘Scheduled…’ view.
• Only collecting a single gift per collection, which caused it to appear as if if it was not collecting at all.

New Daily Kill Counter

There is a new daily kill counter on each ship tab and a combined total in the lower left hand corner of the FastTrek UI.

It tracks all successful battles that FastTrek witnesses (while it is running), including ships which are not automated.

Please note that this includes PvP battles, but does not include hostiles killed while in menus, or those where the ship does not actually show up as ‘in battle’ (such as GS-31 or Borg Cutting Beam). Losses, i.e. if a ship is destroyed during the encounter, also aren’t counted.

The counter resets at 5:00 UTC every day, as per Scopely’s daily PvE limit.

Reconnect Intervals

If the player took control from another device, triggering Reconnect Intervals, but the game got stuck in a state where it would normally trigger a restart of the game, FastTrek would restart the game and cause it to disconnect the player on the other device.

This has been fixed so that restarts or reconnects can only happen once the reconnect timeout has expired as expected.

Elite Hostile detection

Despite fixes in the previous version, elite hostiles (skull icon) could still be attacked due to poor image cropping. This has been adjusted so that attack dialogues should be correctly dismissed as expected when “Avoid Elites” is selected.

Other fixes and improvements

• Fixed Faction store collection of Bajoran Superconductor Exchange
• When refreshing a mining node a ship may now also randomly move left
• Added the ability to directly rename saved profiles
• The system selector now shows hostiles’ faction tags

IMPORTANT: Gift Collection

Due to ongoing issues with web store logins, this version switches to in-game gift collection to avoid missing out on core gifts.

This also means:

• Loyalty Chests cannot currently be collected.
• ‘Missions as gifts’ are always collected (the associated setting is ignored)
• You will continue to see the notification to log in to the webstore, but doing so has no effect in this version.
• There will be no automatic ‘mission key’ collection (obviously).

I may bring back webstore collections in the future if I can find a reliable technique. Until then at least core gifts will be collected.

Game Update 89
