Auto-Mining - FastTrek Docs
Use the FastTrek Bot to automate mining in Star Trek Fleet Command. Refresh nodes, recall when full or OPC and stay fully stocked on materials and ISO.
FastTrek’s Mining automation allows you to mine continuously without worrying about refreshing zero-nodes or presenting a ripe target for OPC hunters, and stop running out of anything that can be mined in the game.
Setting Up Mining in FastTrek
- Crew your ship of choice.
- Select the Ship Tab for the ship you want to configure.
- Select “Mine” from the list of available automation types.
- Configure the automation.
- Start the automation, or “start paused” if you have more ships to set up.
Mining Settings
Resource / Material
FastTrek supports mining all resources within the game, with specific support for automatically finding free nodes for the following:
- Crystal (all grades)
- Gas (all grades)
- Ore (all grades)
- Isogen (all grades)
- Parsteel and Σ-Parsteel
- Tritanium and Σ-Tritanium
- Dilithium and Σ-Dilithium
- Raw Latinum
- Concentrated Latinum
- Mycelium
- Anomaly Samples (both types)
- Trellium-A
- Trellium-D
- Transogen (all grades)
For other resources, select Unspecified. With ‘Unspecified’, FastTrek will need to be started with the ship already on a node, or with the location set to a bookmark for a specific node.
Location
See Target Locations
Smart System Name Filtering
System name lookup will automatically filter for systems with the chosen resource (or all if ‘Unspecified’).
By default, FastTrek will show your most recent systems for that resource first. It will then show other systems with the same grade, before higher grades and finally lower grades.
These are sorted by warp range.
Also, typing G3, G4, G5 etc into the system name will filter the mining systems to that grade.
‘Local’ Considerations
If you are already on a node, you can select the “Local” option for simplicity. FastTrek will attempt to either keep the node in view or read the system name and resource type to be able to return after recalling.
Bookmark Considerations
When using a bookmark for mining, it is important to consider the following:
- For ‘Unspecified’ mining, see the above info box.
- For supported resources, FastTrek will try to find the same type of node in the bookmarked system.
Mirror Universe
For effective (and repeat) mining in the Mirror Universe, please remember to set your recall timer.
For rift navigation, you will also need to calibrate your keyboard pan as described here.
Picard Maneuver
See Picard Maneuver
Auto-defences
When enabled, activates and renews auto-defences as needed while mining.
Both Picard Maneuver and Auto-defences can be used together. In that case, Picard Maneuver will be executed first to freeze revenge hostiles, then auto-defences will be activated before looking for a node to defend against player attacks while mining.
When auto-defences run out, FastTrek will take the ship off the node and renew. It is possible that unfortunate timing leaves the ship vulnerable to attack during this refresh.
Recall Conditions and Repeating
See Recall & Repeat
Panic Mode
In panic mode FastTrek can monitor a certain region of space (which, for instance, can be the area surrounding the ship, or a bookmark set to the entry point of a token system), and recall the ship if an enemy is spotted.
“Enemy” in this context mean a member of an alliance that has been declared “Enemy” or “KoS” by your own alliance diplomacy, as indicated by the little red crosshairs icon.
To activate Panic mode, select the check mark and select a location.
“Local” means the visible area around the ship when it is centred/focussed (i.e. pressing space – or typing the ship number again when using the Community Mod).
Panic Mode should only be used on its own, i.e. no other ship automation should be running. Otherwise how can it keep an eye on the prize?
Tips for Mining
Contended Systems
In systems with lots of activity and competition for nodes, FastTrek may struggle to find a free node. If this happens, it will keep trying for a certain amount of time before giving up temporarily. It will then wait 6 minutes before trying again, and will keep repeating this cycle until it finds a node or the automation is stopped.
Mining Cycles
Creating a mining cycle can be a great way to keep on top of your daily mining requirements using fewer ships. The steps for doing so are discussed in Saved Profiles.
