Recall and Repeat - FastTrek Docs
Configure when your ships are recalled and how often they repeat their given task.
You’ve sent a ship out, but when will it come back? FastTrek lets you choose different Recall Conditions based on the task. In all automations where it is relevant, you can choose the recall condition within the “Recall if:” section.
You can also choose how many times the ship should repeat the task before stopping, or whether it should repeat indefinitely until manually stopped. You do this under “Do the above” at the bottom of the automation settings.
Recall if Full
Recall the ship when it has full cargo. The game normally indicates this with a “Full” status (triple crates) on the dock, as well as a complete cargo bar in the ship menu on the left.
Game Bug - “Full” status not showing
Certain ship/research/officer combinations fail to show the “Full” status anywhere, in which case FastTrek will not be able to detect that the ship is full and will not recall it.
FastTrek offers the following workaround for this bug: You can adjust the cargo threshold at which FastTrek treats the ship as ‘full’ for the purposes of this option.
Steps to adjust the ‘cargo full threshold’
- Open Settings (from the ‘Start’ tab).
- Open “Ship Behaviour”.
- Locate the setting “Cargo Full Threshold (%)” and adjust it to a value that works for you.
“Cargo Full Threshold” is a global setting and will affect all your ships and automations that use the “When Full” recall condition.
Recall if OPC
Recall the ship when Over Protected Cargo (OPC). When selected, FastTrek will switch to the ship periodically in order to check the cargo status. When the ship becomes over-protected, FastTrek will recall it.
The interval at which FastTrek checks the cargo status is determined by the “OPC Check Interval” setting, which can be found under Settings > Ship Behaviour > OPC Check Interval.
Recall if Number of battles/nodes/etc
Recall the ship after it has completed a certain number of work items, depending on the task. For combat, this will be the number of battles; for mining, the number of nodes emptied; for Mantis, the number of stings, etc.
Recall after a certain time
Recall the ship after it has been out for a certain amount of time.
For combat automations, this starts counting from the moment the ship enters its target system. It does not include travel time.
For mining automations, this only counts time actually spent mining. It does not include travel time, and the timer pauses on zero-nodes.
In the Mirror Universe, this starts counting when entering the first rift. For accurate recall after the MU, you must activate and set this to the exact time you are allowed there, based on your District 56 building level. For a 50% time bonus, it should be exactly 30 minutes.
Recall if Hull below a certain percentage
Recall the ship if its hull drops below a certain percentage. The recommended use for this option is for:
- Mirror Universe - it will stop the ship from attacking if its hull is too low. Destruction in the MU would result in losing all cargo.
- Solo Armadas - all ships will be recalled and repaired if any one of them falls below this threshold, keeping your combat power at max.
Until Destroyed
If you select none of the above, the ship will keep going until it is destroyed. A miner will never recall, but may attempt to refresh its (zero-)node.
Repeating (Do the above…)
FastTrek offers three options for repeating automations:
- Do a set number of times
- Do for a total number of battles/nodes/etc
- Repeat forever until manually stopped
Do a set number of times
Each time the ship is recalled, it counts as one. So if you set this to 1 time, the ship will do the task until it is recalled as per the above.
If the ship is destroyed before it is recalled, this will also count as one for the purposes of this option.
Do for a total number of battles/nodes/etc
Keeps track of the total number of battles/nodes/etc across all runs of the automation. When the total reaches the set number, the ship will immediately recall one last time. If the ship is destroyed before the total is reached, FastTrek will automatically repair and send it back. It will do this however many times it takes to complete the requested total.
Repeat forever until manually stopped
The ship will keep doing the task and recalling as per the above indefinitely until you manually stop it.
Scenarios and Examples
| Scenario | Recommended Recall Condition | Recommended Repeat Option | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kill 15 hostiles in XYZ, peaceful server | 15 battles | The ship will kill 15 hostiles, recall, and finish. | |
| Kill 15 hostiles in XYZ, PvP server | Do until total battles: 15 | The ship will keep returning until it has killed 15 in total, even if destroyed by a player, ensuring mission completion. | |
| Mining in Token system | Full | Number of times: At most your available warp tokens | The ship will mine until full, then recall and repeat. It will do this as many times as you have warp tokens, ensuring you don’t run out. |
| 3x Material Mining Loop | Full or OPC | Number of times: 1; “Then switch to” saved profile for next material | The ship will mine until full or OPC, then recall and switch to the next material. Set up profiles that point to each other in a cycle and it will continue forever. |
| Mirror Universe Grind | After (your MU timer), Hull below X% if you can’t survive in the target system | As many times as you like | The ship will attack in the MU until your timer runs out, then recall. If you can’t survive the full time, choose a lower level system or recall below hull % to avoid losing cargo. |
