Outposts - FastTrek Docs

Capture Solo Outposts automatically with a lead ship and up to three supports, then let FastTrek repair each ship when it drops out.

An Outpost capture holds your ships for hours and costs directives, so FastTrek treats it differently from every other automation: it starts the capture once, keeps its hands off the ships while they hold the Outpost, and repairs each ship when it comes out.

The setup is the same as for Solo Armadas: configure the lead ship, add the supports, then start them all.

Configuring the Lead ship

  1. Crew the ship that will start the capture.
  2. On its Ship tab, select Outpost as the automation type.
  3. Pick an Outpost system as the location. The location selector only offers systems that hold an Outpost. Elite Outposts show up as [ELITE] in front of the system name.
  4. If you are using support ships, click Start Paused. Otherwise just click Start.

There are no recall conditions, repeats, rarity or ability options for an Outpost. A capture lasts as long as you hold the Outpost, so there is nothing to repeat. Each Outpost profile runs exactly once.

Configuring the Support ship(s) Captain& up

The Ensign plan automates one ship at a time, so a capture with support ships needs the Captain plan or above.

  1. On the Ship tab of each support ship, select Outpost Support.
  2. Pick the lead ship as the location.
  3. Click Start (or Start Paused).

When all supports are started, Resume the lead, or use Start / Resume All to set everything off at the same time.

The game decides how many ships take part: two supports, or three at higher levels. FastTrek sends every support you configured and lets the game choose.

What happens next?

  1. All ships travel to the Outpost system and wait until everyone has arrived.
  2. The lead finds the Outpost, confirms the capture and pays the directives.
  3. Each support is then sent to join the capture during the countdown.
  4. While the capture lasts, the ships show the Outpost status on their docks.
  5. When a ship drops out, FastTrek repairs it and ends its automation.

Ships in an Outpost are left alone

Once a ship is part of an Outpost capture, nothing in FastTrek will take it away from there:

  • Recall All Ships skips it, even if you started the capture yourself, by hand.
  • A schedule that comes due for that ship waits until it has left the Outpost. If the schedule’s window ends first, it is skipped, and you get a Schedule Missed - Ship in an Outpost notification.

Ship swap and scheduling

Outposts work with ship swap and scheduling, so you can schedule a capture for a time when your Outpost ships are free.

Notifications

NotificationWhat it means
Outpost Support Missed the CountdownOne or more supports did not join before the countdown ended. The lead carries on without them.
Schedule Missed - Ship in an OutpostA schedule could not run because its ship was still holding an Outpost when its window ended.
No more directivesThe capture could not be paid for, so the automation was stopped.

Known Limitations

  • Outposts are still in beta. If a capture is not started, or a support never joins, please send a feedback report right after it happens.
  • An Outpost capture that is already running cannot be joined by FastTrek. Start the lead and the supports together.
