Installation Instructions

  1. Download the installer (above) and run it.
  2. Follow through the installation wizard to Accept the User Agreement and proceed with the installation.
  3. Optionally allow a desktop shortcut to be created and/or launch FastTrek as a finishing step.
  4. When you first launch FastTrek, you will be asked for your email address and an activation code.
    The email address is the one you specify during checkout, and the activation code will be emailed to you soon after you confirm your subscription. If for any reason you haven’t received this email (and don’t find it in Junk/Spam), please get in touch.
  5. If you see a notice that a new version is available, go ahead and grab it. It just means that I haven’t had a chance to update this page yet. Feel free to send me a nudge so I don’t forget 🙂

Setting up the Game

We need a few quick settings changes in the game to make sure FastTrek can recognise certain elements and work its best. Please follow the configuration guide to do so.

Should you encounter any problems, please know that we’re just an email away to assist you.

Uninstall

Not sure why you’d want to 😉 but should you ever need to remove FastTrek from your computer:

  1. Open the Start Menu and begin to type “Add or Remove Programs” (or the equivalent in your language).
  2. Locate FastTrek in the list of installed software and select “Uninstall”.
  3. Should you decide to delete any saved settings as part of this process, please be aware that this is irreversible.

    (Please note: Actual queueing behaviour is somewhat random; an ‘optimal’ path can’t be calculated due to constant movement.)
  • Fixed a regression with not properly targeting and targets being dismissed prematurely.
  • Fixed an issue with not being able to refresh a mining node on very large game window settings.
  • Improved Q Trials by repeating the attempt to open the Q Trials screen if necessary.

  • New: ‘Recall All’ has a new option to repair previously damaged or destroyed ships.

    Previously only deployed ships were recalled and repaired. With this new option all ships already docked but damaged or destroyed can also be repaired conveniently.
  • Fixed a loop in setup which prevented running ship detection.
  • Fixed a bug where the community mod could potentially install automatically.
  • Fixed a blank ‘advisory’ outcome in the setup wizard.
  • Added the ability to take a screenshot on ship detection for debugging purposes.

FastTrek 1.14.2 (25 September 2025)

  • Removed the often incorrectly failing licensing check from the troubleshooting wizard.
  • Added back the option Settings > Advanced > Auto-adapt docks to game window width, which had been accidentally hidden in 1.14.1.
  • When this option is enabled, FT will no longer show the warning about width having changed.
  • Added an option (enabled by default) to automatically restart the game if a dismissable screen like ‘Done’ does not respond to input.

FastTrek 1.14.1 (22 September 2025)

  • Fixed issue where the Setup Wizard would reopen for new users instead of launching Ship Detection.
  • Fixed issue where the Setup Wizard was unable to install or configure the Community Mod.
  • Brought back the ability to resize the game window to the suggested resolution in the Ship Detection screen.
  • Added the option to reset the game window width to the width used in the last ship detection (faster than re-detecting).
  • Added a warning on the ‘Start’ tab when game width has changed from last ship detection, with a quick fix option to reset the width.
  • Added a solution to the Wizard to reset the game window width.
  • Fixed a few Wizard-related translation issues.

  • Tweaked the effect of Setting > Ship Behaviour > Evasive Redeployment to be much more random and ramping up faster,
    with minimum delay time starting at a more realistic ~2 minutes (previously 30s) and randomly going up to ~44 minutes (previously 15).

    The parameters will become configurable in a future release.

FastTrek 1.14.0 (18 September 2025)

  • New Setup/Troubleshooting Wizard, separate from ship detection,
    which will recognise common problems and suggest automatic fixes,
    including the option to automatically install and/or fix the Community Patch.

    If you have any problems with FastTrek not detecting ships or screens,
    please run this assistant.

    For new users it will guide and really smooth the initial setup.
  • Fixed an issue where an automation with Picard Maneuver could fail
    when the hostile stopped on an intercept course instead of the target location.
  • UI: Default to the operating system light/dark theme unless toggled manually.
  • Regression on MacOS: Fixed restart issue.

FastTrek 1.13.6 (29 July 2025)

  • Solo Armadas with purple join buttons (Krenim) now work with support ships.
  • New: Solo Armada faction selector with corresponding system restrictions.
  • Add option to restart the game when any ship is stuck in warp for longer than the expected recall time (see ship behaviour).

    This is to work around the ‘warping 00h 00m’ game bug.
  • Add experimental ‘evasive redeployment’ option (you can enable it in Ship Behaviour).

    When destroyed unexpectedly (as determined by large drop in HHP), delay the ship by at least 30 seconds.

    Each further unexpected destruction will double the delay, up to a maximum of 15 minutes.

    Please give feedback about its effectiveness when being destroyed by players.
  • Faction Stores: Added FKR Loyalty Packs, Recruit and Raw Materials.
  • Faction Stores: Added DTI ‘Temporal Points’.

FastTrek 1.13.2 (18 July 2025)

  • New: Multi-ship solo armadas. Please read the Solo Armada docs.
  • New: When enabled in settings (Schedules > Station Shield), allow combat automations to drop shields (e.g. vs Texas class).

    Scheduled shielding will automatically resume when the automation ends (but not while it is paused).

    If shield auto-drop is disabled, the ship will simply recall and stop.
  • New: You can now navigate to unknown systems by name: Type it and click out of the box (don’t use tab or enter keys).
  • This is also a good workaround for when a system shows the wrong types of hostiles.
  • New: In the Collection>Gifts settings you can now choose whether to collect Missions which are delivered via Gifts/Claim.

    ‘Off’ means a gifted mission won’t suddenly start, potentially disrupting automation or starting a time-constrained mission.

    A new notification area in FastTrek will show when a such a mission is available to collect manually.
  • Gift Collection: Avoid collecting gifts which aren’t available yet, which is unnatural and additionally caused long delays.
  • Rework the repeat options dropdown to hopefully avoid it getting stuck on ‘forever’.
  • Fix a UI issue where the ‘ship’ location selector would not show all ships.
  • Work around a problem of possibly getting stuck on the ‘Collect’ screen.

  • Fix an issue where Solo Armadas were targeted, but not started.

FastTrek 1.13.0 (10 July 2025)

  • NEW: Basic Solo Armadas – currently only sends a single ship and only works for Borg Type 03 and Borg Armadas with the ‘I’ symbol. No speeding up (yet).
  • FastTrek now identifies ship status when in a Group or Borg 03 / Borg Armada (those with the ‘I’ symbol).
