The MacOS client is in beta
As of 1.14.3 the FastTrek Mac client is very stable, however, the game itself may crash randomly (thanks Scopely).
Not all features have been fully tested (see current status).
Feel free to report any issues you find so we can bring it up to the same level as the Windows bot.
Installation
- Download the FastTrek .dmg:
- Mount it when complete and drag FastTrek into Applications
Starting for the first time
FastTrek’s code is digitally signed. However, it is not currently ‘notarized’ by Apple and will trigger Gatekeeper as shown here.
Click the ‘?’ in the top right corner to open the associated help.
Click the ‘Open Privacy & Security Settings’ link in the middle of the page.
Click ‘Done’ on the original popup.
Then select ‘Open Anyway’.
The popup should now look like this:
In addition MacOS will show a prompt asking you to allow FastTrek to record the screen. This can be done in Privacy & Security settings.
This permission is necessary so that FastTrek can ‘see’ the STFC game window.
Yet another prompt will ask you to grant Accessibility permission. Again this is found in Privacy & Security.
This permission is necessary so that FastTrek can send mouse input and key commands to STFC.
When you open Settings for the first time:
If you would like FastTrek to collect Gifts for you, please select “always allow”. This is so that FastTrek can securely store your Scopely ID credentials in your keychain.
When you try to install Chromium from
Settings > Collection > Gifts
This will allow FastTrek to download and execute the necessary software.
PHEW !
After all that, you should be all set to continue with the general ‘Getting Started’.
