Group Armadas

Added Group Armadas to the Solo Armadas automation.

They are clearly labelled in the armada type drop down and segregated into 14 new groups, all prefixed with *Group - *:

• Exchange
• Swarm Horde
• Borg Cube
• Mega Cube
• Borg Polygon
• Borg Expansion Cube
• G4
• G5
• G7
• Cardassian
• Klingon Burial Ship
• Doomsday Fissure
• Xindi
• Quantum Tesseract
• Formation Armadas are not supported.

Where a group spans multiple factions, you’ll be able to use the system dropdown to find Armadas for the desired faction (added in 1.18.17).

Rarity is filtered as normal, and the system selector will only show systems with the selected group and rarity.

Ship limit: Obviously, the limit is only 1 of your own ships. Should you combine this with Solo Armada Support to send another ship, FastTrek will join both, and as per game rules, only the strongest (by power) will be chosen to participate.

Game resizing and side chat

I have made a significant effort to improve the dock position calculation when the game is resized or side chat is used.

Settings > Advanced > Auto-adapt docks to game window width is now enabled by default (it was opt-in before).

Other Fixes

• Fixed an issue where the Solo Armada automation stopped panning around to look for Armadas.
• Fixed a bug in the setup/troubleshooting wizard that made it repeatedly recommend a restart to load the mod, even though it was already loaded.
• Fixed an issue where the ‘quit prompt’ was not always recognised correctly. This should be more reliable now and quicker to dismiss if you were affected.

Faction Store Bulk Collection

Hurray, with 94.1, bulk collection is available to everyone without the unfair 7-day login streak.

So this update removes all individual faction store options.

Faction store is now entirely bulk-collectable, so please set up your options in-game. FastTrek will only ask you to select which stores to visit. All are enabled by default.

Gift Collection

Gift collection will now do a bulk collection first, then pick up any remaining solo gifts. This is way more streamlined and allows for the automatic collection of the Optical Diode conversion, as well as 7-day or 30-day chests that couldn’t be collected otherwise.

It is therefore worth setting up bulk collection in the game for your gifts.

Game Bug Workaround

If you noticed Scopely’s help pages opening randomly and multiple times, this was thanks to a new game bug they had introduced in the latest update. The game didn’t go back to the menu after collecting individual chests.

FastTrek would then continue to try and collect the same thing again, leading to a “transaction error”. And unfortunately, due to not knowing what to do with it, it ended up pressing the wrong button, opening help.

This primarily affected the Away Teams / Claims Section.

Although Scopely have now fixed this bug as of 1st September, FastTrek can now figure out when the game is in this state and will return to the menu after collecting. If for any reason it does get the transaction error popup, it will now close it correctly and return to the menu.

Faction tags on systems dropdown

The system dropdown now shows faction tags for each system. You can also search for tags, e.g. try “FKR” (systems will are three major factions), “FED”, “BRG”, “VGER”, “GOR” or “SULI”.

Latinum spend on repair resources

FastTrek now has the option to spend Latinum on repair resources (such as Tritanium). This can come up for example if you are in late-G5 and repair a ship that requires G6.

To enable this option, go to Settings > Ship Behaviour > Repair and enable “Use Latinum to buy resources”.

Please note: If the setting is disabled (default), repair and any further automation on the same dock will not be possible. The automation will then end with a notification.

Other Fixes

• Fixed a few bugs in collection scheduling
• Fixed a bug where Automatic Reconnects were not triggered/stepped as expected
• Fixed a bug with station shield detection when covered by a popup
• Fixed shield detection during Incursions
• Fixed a ship status bug where ‘enaging’ could be read as ‘mining’ when the Kir’Shara queue had a certain number of hostiles on it.

Fixed the long-standing issue of the ‘repeat’ selector at the bottom always showing ‘Forever’ instead of the actually-selected repeat option.

Fixed Issues

• Common Anomaly Sample nodes were not detected properly.
• AutoDefense checks were made far too frequently, which could cause ships with AutoDefenses enabled to move off nodes every few seconds.
• A ship might not have updated its cargo status before looking for a new node. It should now recall if full/opc (if requested) instead of searching.
• UI issue where tooltips on coloured buttons could not be read in dark mode.
• Directly after gift collection, the timer could reset to slightly before the next available time, ultimately resulting in missed collections.
• When using Direct Input, a connection that failed once was never tried again. It will now do so after a short timeout.

Behaviour Adjustment

• All loading screens (preparing, black with STFC logo, or black store loading with spinner in the middle) are now treated the same as ‘preparing’ - if enabled in the settings, the game will be restarted if deemed stuck on one.

• Fixed a critical issue where hostile hunt would stop for no apparent reason (internal error).
• Fixed an issue where settings from one automation could spill over to another on the same dock where they weren’t relevant. Notably, a faction filter from hostile hunt could carry over to Solo Armadas, preventing them from being started.
• Fixed an issue where Hostile Level filters were not applied.
• Tweaked hostile level recognition, which could occasionally return a similar-looking higher level (e.g. 66 vs 65).
• Fixed an issue with some Refinery menu entries not being recognised.
• Matched the order of Refinery menu entries to the game (Sigma Resources).
• Improved modal ad detection on screens where docks remain visible.
• Improved handling of multi-collect screens. Subsequent collect screens will now also be dismissed much quicker.

• System Update for Game Update 93.1
• Fix an issue where Elites could not be selected or prioritised. The option should now be available for any system containing skull-marked hostiles. Note that this excludes Transogen Space Suliban, which have a different marking.

• Fix navigation for Galactic Anomaly systems
• Fix for daily kill counter reset
• Introduce special handling for Mirror Axanar - Nausicaa, working around the game bug of the system opening next to the Deneb rift and sending the ship to Deneb/Ordesia instead of Nausicaa/Romii.

• Improved reliability of OPC detection, especially when Auto-defenses are active.
• Reduce the amount of pan when looking for a mining node.

• Fix a hard crash on MacOS during startup, when Accessibility permissions had not been granted in advance.

This update:

• Significantly improves Isogenite and Isogenite Geode detection
• Fixes a regression where the Setup Wizard never passed the “Community Mod” step.
• Updates to the latest version of the Community Mod + FastTrek Extensions.
• Enables Direct Control on MacOS with that latest version.
• Fixes a regression where the Refinery could not scroll the menu.

This update focuses on the Community Mod to enforce certain settings, including zoom presets, to provide a consistent experience for all players.

Inconsistent settings have been causing issues with rift navigation and missed clicks for some players.

For background, if a system is zoomed out too far, physical click windows become much smaller. This vastly increases the chance of the game placing the click on an unintended target or hostiles moving too far relative to the computed location.

Keyword Hunter is also affected by zoom, as it expects hostile names to be (just) visible when it runs.

Game Update 92 - Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations

Other fixes and improvements

• Event refresh is now correctly pinned to UTC instead of PT/PDT.
• Fixed a typo in the manual download link on the ‘Update available’ tab.
• Ensure there is a clear 10-minute gap between gift collections when the 10-minute chest is selected.
• Improve handling of the ‘create bookmark’/‘share location’ popup if accidentally triggered.
• Stop treating generic errors as a disconnection, so it doesn’t trigger Reconnect Intervals.
• Recover more quickly from ‘nasty’ error screens (the larger, more blurry variety)
• Fix a condition where errors couldn’t be dismissed at all and associated restarts weren’t triggered.

Includes mod version 1.1.2.1 to fix STFC crashing on startup.

To install the mod update, click the notification (bell) icon in FastTrek’s top left corner and click the link.

On Windows this will install the mod and start the game.

On MacOS it will download the patched version for you to install manually.

Recent Community Mod Update

If you recently updated the community mod, you may have noticed the new transition screens that replaced the black ‘Preparing’ screens.

Unfortunately, some players, including myself, have noticed that the game can get stuck mid-transition, and in addition the ‘Preparing’ screen no longer triggered a restart.

This version of FastTrek will automatically disable the transition in the mod. If it isn’t reverted to black ‘Preparing’ between screen loads, it should apply the next time the game restarts.

Priority/Elite Targeting

Added options to prioritise targeting for:

• Interceptor
• Explorer
• Battleship
• Survey
• Elites

Adding priority means those targets will be preferred, and you can select more than one.

Elite selection is given a higher preference than type selection, as its primary use will be to grind for the recently-introduced G3 Ascension Resarch Tree.

Please also note that Elites priority and the existing ‘Avoid Elites’ options are mutually exclusive.

Challenge Track Collection

FastTrek now attempts to collect the challenge track as part of Dailies.

Other

• The installer no longer downloads Microsoft vc_redist if already installed.
• Included DLLs are now fully signed.

• Fixed an issue where FastTrek might have hung on certain error screens or not dismissed modals, unless it had been suspended and resumed.
• Added support for filtering Borg, Dominion, and FKR Solo Armadas by rarity.
• For FKR Solo Armadas, the rarirty filter will also filter systems.
• Split the Krenim/Temporal Solo Armada into separate entries for Static and Charged.
• Keyword/name filtering for Krenim/Temporal Solo Armadas is now automatic according to the selected type and no longer requires entering keywords.
• Krenim/Temporal were the only type requiring keywords, so the keyword field has been removed.

• Fixed navigation to Academy systems with a skull icon
• Added support for bulk collection in the claims section, specifically Alliances, Consumables, and Away Teams. Remember to set these up first within the game by pulling out the bulk menu in the top right and using the ‘Add to Bulk’ button to select what you want collected.
• Fixed an issue in Gift Collection, where “Redeem Code” could be clicked when everything else was already on cooldown, and it was just barely visible at the right hand edge of the screen.
• Fixed an issue with HHP level reading incorrectly in some Transogen/Hazard systems.
• Prevent Scheduled Restarts from pausing all automations too early, which could lead to them staying paused forever in some situations (notably while in the Mirror Universe).

Direct Control in Preview

One of the annoyances about using an STFC mod has been that mouse and keyboard became unavailable. Direct Control aims to address this by bypassing your mouse and keyboard. Read the link to get started.

Bulk Faction Store Collection

Woohoo! Finally, with Update 91 Scopely have added a bulk faction store collection option. It is unlocked if you maintain a 7-day login streak in the game.

FastTrek will now use this in-game bulk collect feature when it is available. It will fall back to the previous one-by-one method if you miss a day and the streak resets.

Please make sure you set up your bulk collection within the game. On the next collection (which you can trigger manually), FastTrek will visit that faction and bulk-collect.

Some notes and possible quirks to watch:

• All items that were selected in the FastTrek UI for that menu will be reset to the next bulk cooldown.
• Potentially there may be a subsequent visit if the cooldown timer can’t be read for any reason.
• It is enough to select any one item with the FastTrek UI to trigger bulk collection in a faction menu, even if you don’t have that same item selected for collection within the game.
• Resetting the cooldown for any one item in FastTrek’s setting will trigger a visit to that faction menu.
• The fallback could not be tested, as I have no information on what happens to the bulk buttons when not available.

Other changes and improvements

• Starting the game (introduced in 1.17.0) and certain other actions no longer trigger when FastTrek is suspended.
• Fixed an issue where the shield drop prompt when attacking a player or Texas-Class hostiles was not detected correctly. This was especially problematic with mining nodes showing as empty during laggy periods, leading to potential player attacks and RoE breaches.
• Perform additional checks when confirming a mining node and attempt to recall the ship if it ends up engaging another ship.

New Timed Collections

See Settings > Schedules.

All collections (apart from gifts) now have an option for collecting at a fixed time every day.

To enable this option, go to Settings > Schedules and switch the toggle for the relevant collection to “Timed”. You will then be able to enter a time at which you want the collection to be triggered.

When the scheduled time arrives, the collection will be triggered regardless of cooldowns. Using timed collection will disable ‘update/check’ collections within 5 minutes of starting or resuming FastTrek. It will also disable extra collections just after event reset.

Game Start

See Settings > Restarts.

A new “Start game if not running” option has been added to Settings > Restarts. When enabled (which is the default), FastTrek will attempt to start the game if it detects that it has not been running for the duration specified. (Default 10 minutes)

Norton vs HotKeys

On Windows, Norton AV could detect FastTrek as a keylogger (IDP.Generic) due to the way in which it registered its hotkeys. This update changes the hotkey registration method to try and avoid this issue.

Other changes

• Ensure missing localised graphic does not crash automations when playing on languages other than English, French or German.
• The “Maximum Wait Time for Hostile to get stuck during Picard Maneuver” option was missing from Settings > Ship Behaviour and has now been added.
• The system requirement for MacOS has been lowered to 14.6 (Sonoma).

• Fixes ship status being read incorrectly with Scopely’s new Alliance Tournaments icon.
• Bundles the latest community mod (1.1.0).

Community Mod

On Windows you can update the mod by running the Setup Wizard. On MacOS please update manually by downloading the latest .dmg here

The MacOS update fixes the problem where the game needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled with every game update, so this is worth downloading.

Faction Store fixes

• Fixed an issue where FKR Recruit packs would only collect once, even if multiple chests were selected.
• Fixed an issue where the collection could infinitely try to drag/scroll down when an item was in cooldown.
• Fixed an issue where the collection might look for the next item before the previous ‘done’ screen was dismissed.
• Fixed Defiant parts collections in the Bajoran store to reflect the recent ability to ‘view’ and convert up to 3 chests.

Mining

• Fixed zero-node detection in transogen systems.
• Fixed HHP reading in hazard systems, which could lead to premature recall in conjunction with ‘recall if hull < …’. See notes on this option.

Targeting and Travel Improvements

• Fixed an issue where combat ships would be detected as OPC when attacking a ship in the combat triangle (and immediately recall if ‘recall if OPC’ was used).
• Fixed an issue where the build queues may be expanded, especially during rift travel.
• Avoid using the instant travel button when sending an instant-jump-capable ship to a token system.

Significantly reduced the wait time for all targeting and travel confirmations, including:

• when a click on a hostile is missed, down to ~2 seconds from ~10+ seconds.
• when targeting rifts.
• when confirming travel to a system, especially for mining.

Attempt to cancel attacks on occupied nodes

When there is significant lag, mining nodes can sometimes show as free when they are actually occupied. This can lead to accidental attacks on players, RoE breaches, and diplomatic incidents.

This update attempts to detect an unwanted attack and cancels it by immediately recalling the ship before stopping the warp charge. Success isn’t guaranteed (and frankly this couldn’t be tested), but worth it if even just one incorrect attack is stopped.

Maverick Faction Store

Added the missing labels for various Borg Sphere items in the Maverick Faction Store collection settings.

MacOS

Improve permissions handling for MacOS users and offer a wizard solution to grant permissions when needed.

Wait for Shield Recharge Functional Change

This setting now disables the Kir’Shara queue for an automation when it is enabled. (Previously this option was completely ignored as soon as Kir’Shara was used.)

You may need to check your saved profiles and update them accordingly.

Other Changes and Fixes

• Fixed OPC detection when ship abilities were activated, e.g. Automatic Defenses on a miner.
• Fixed an issue where opening the shield settings would default the shield configuration to “renew” mode when configured to “scheduled”.

Fixes a packaging error in v1.16.17 where the version appeared as ${project.version} in the UI internally. This caused errors such as not being able to login or the game not being detected.

Please update to this version to resolve the issue.

This update aims to address issues with hostile targeting:

• The default click point has been moved 3 pixels further to the left. If you use Adjust Targeting, you may need to update your configuration.
• Overzealous player detection was leading to valid targets being dismissed. This was caused by a laggy game causing ‘star streaks’ to appear all over the targeting dialogue, which interfered with the previous technique.

Mirror Navigation

This update fixes the issue where the bot would occasionally and seemingly randomly go straight back through a rift it had just arrived through, and ending up in a completely wrong system.

Root cause

For those curious about the details, a single click into the system is required before keyboard pan has any effect. In a system where we arrived on the left, FastTrek would aim this around the left hand edge, and “out of bounds” would flash before panning the system (due to that enabling click).

But in some cases, the ship menu would sometimes become taller for no reason, causing the click to fall on the ship captain’s portrait instead of into the system. As a result, the system would never register the click, and the pan would never be enabled.

The view would stay on the entry rift and FastTrek would see that as the only possible one to take.

Restarts

More work has been done to avoid an excessive number of attempted restarts, especially during maintenance periods. On MacOS in particular, these could lead to crashes, multiple broken instances of STFC running, and using up more system resources than necessary.

Excelsior

The Excelsior ability “Decloaking Deflector” can now be activated by the Voyager / Excelsior automation (previously “Voyager Bioship”).

The cooldown for this ability can be configured in Settings > Ship Behaviour.

The automation will automatically detect which ability is available on the current ship and use the corresponding cooldown.

Gift Collection

This releases fixes some issues with the in-game Gift Collection introduced in 1.16.14:

• Incorrect count down to the next collection in the ‘Scheduled…’ view.
• Only collecting a single gift per collection, which caused it to appear as if if it was not collecting at all.

New Daily Kill Counter

There is a new daily kill counter on each ship tab and a combined total in the lower left hand corner of the FastTrek UI.

It tracks all successful battles that FastTrek witnesses (while it is running), including ships which are not automated.

Please note that this includes PvP battles, but does not include hostiles killed while in menus, or those where the ship does not actually show up as ‘in battle’ (such as GS-31 or Borg Cutting Beam). Losses, i.e. if a ship is destroyed during the encounter, also aren’t counted.

The counter resets at 5:00 UTC every day, as per Scopely’s daily PvE limit.

Reconnect Intervals

If the player took control from another device, triggering Reconnect Intervals, but the game got stuck in a state where it would normally trigger a restart of the game, FastTrek would restart the game and cause it to disconnect the player on the other device.

This has been fixed so that restarts or reconnects can only happen once the reconnect timeout has expired as expected.

Elite Hostile detection

Despite fixes in the previous version, elite hostiles (skull icon) could still be attacked due to poor image cropping. This has been adjusted so that attack dialogues should be correctly dismissed as expected when “Avoid Elites” is selected.

Other fixes and improvements

• When refreshing a mining node a ship may now also randomly move left
• Added the ability to directly rename saved profiles
• The system selector now shows hostiles’ faction tags

IMPORTANT: Gift Collection

Due to ongoing issues with web store logins, this version switches to in-game gift collection to avoid missing out on core gifts.

This also means:

• Loyalty Chests cannot currently be collected.
• ‘Missions as gifts’ are always collected (the associated setting is ignored)
• You will continue to see the notification to log in to the webstore, but doing so has no effect in this version.
• There will be no automatic ‘mission key’ collection (obviously).

I may bring back webstore collections in the future if I can find a reliable technique. Until then at least core gifts will be collected.

Other Changes

• FastTrek’s “lazy zoom”, in conjunction with the game/mod bug of entering a system at the wrong zoom level, could lead to an inability to target hostiles. “Lazy zoom” is now off by default but can be enabled in Settings > Ship Behaviour.

• New: Windows now defaults to DirectX capture, which allows the game window to be partially obscured. As this is GPU-accelerated, it should improve performance on most systems, however, may feel sluggish on GPU-limited systems, such as some Virtual Machines. You can switch back to GDI capture in Settings > Advanced if you experience issues.
